Terms

No Varnish is a job board for roles where AI tools are part of the work. Posting is free. These terms describe what happens to a listing once you submit it.

Every listing is reviewed

Nothing publishes automatically. A person reads each submission and either approves it or rejects it with a written reason, normally within one business day. A rejection is not a ban: you get the reason and a link back to your submission, and you can fix it and resubmit.

We reject listings that:

  • hide compensation, or state a range so wide it says nothing
  • are recruitment agencies advertising an unnamed client
  • are not really a job — courses, unpaid “equity only” work, or lead capture
  • are tagged with tools the role does not actually use
  • duplicate a listing already on the board

Compensation is mandatory

Every listing shows pay. There is no field to hide it and no “competitive salary” option. This is the single rule the board is built around, and it is the most common reason a submission is turned down. The only exception is a listing we sourced ourselves from another board, which is labelled as such and says plainly when the original did not publish a figure.

The clock

A listing runs for 30 days from approval, not from submission, so time spent in review costs you nothing. A bounty with a deadline sooner than that closes on the deadline instead. You can close a listing early at any time, and you will be emailed before it expires so you can renew it.

When a listing ends it is not deleted. It stays online, clearly marked as closed, with the apply button removed and links to similar open roles. Search engines are told it has ended.

The featured upgrade

For $99 a listing is pinned above the feed for 7 days, and above matching results whenever someone filters. It is the only thing sold here.

  • Your card is authorised when you post and charged only when the listing is approved. A rejected listing is never charged.
  • The 7 days start when the pin starts, not when you paid. If every slot is full, your pin waits and still runs its full length.
  • Paying does not change how fast or how favourably a listing is reviewed. A board that reviewed paid listings differently would stop being a curated feed.
  • If a pin does not run for the full period for a reason on our side, ask and we will refund it.

Reports and removal

Anyone can report a listing without an account. Reports are private and no number of them removes a listing on its own — they only tell us to look. If we take a live listing down, it routes through the normal rejection path so you receive a written reason rather than finding it silently gone. See the sourcing policy for removing a listing your company did not post.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to display it here and in the digest emails, and to keep showing it in the archive after the role closes. You confirm you are entitled to advertise the role and that what you have written about it is accurate.

What we do not promise

We do not promise a hire, a number of applicants, or a level of traffic. We do not verify claims made in a listing beyond a read for plausibility, and the verified badge means only that the poster used an email address at the company’s own domain.

This is a demonstration project. Treat this page as a description of how the system is built, not as legal advice or a finished agreement.
